Abstract
This research introduces a theoretical framework for AI and VR integration to create active, dynamic learning spaces, addressing key questions about their combined efficacy in education and their flexibility in diverse learning contexts. The investigation considers how the adaptive personalization capabilities of AI can be combined with the immersive qualities of VR to create learner-oriented spaces, aligning with constructivist philosophies that value experience-based learning. From an integrative theoretical approach, the study integrates results from cognitive science, educational technology, and human-computer interaction with qualitative content analysis, systems thinking, and deductive logic to develop a conceptual framework that emphasizes adaptability and interactivity. The framework suggests data analytics by AI can augment VR's potential to build responsive learning environments. At its core is the ability of the model to bridge gaps between individual and collective learning paradigms, with considerations for ethical aspects such as inclusivity and equitable access. The model also goes against conventional static models of learning that give precedence to adaptive environments in response to changing needs of learners. Nevertheless, it recognizes conceptual boundaries, such as assumption of ease of technology integration and versatility across diverse contexts. The interdisciplinarity of this model has implications in computer science and psychology with implications for new interface design and cognitive science research. This model can be built upon in the future with the incorporation of other theoretical models, i.e., sociocultural theories, and empirical analysis to test its validity of pedagogical appropriateness. This article sets the stage for reconsidering active learning, calling scholars to action on solving ethical and practical problems in technology-supported learning environments.
