Abstract
In today’s world, there are increasing concerns regarding environmental degradation and the destructive impacts of the fashion industry on it, a significant part of which results from overproduction and overconsumption. This has led to a rise in consumer awareness and their tendency toward sustainable fashion brands. Sustainable fashion brands, by focusing on environmental values, attempt to reduce the negative effects of clothing production on the environment and transform into a more responsible and sustainable industry. This research examines the role of visual identity in sustainable fashion brands, with a focus on the Patagonia brand. The main objective of the study is to investigate how brands reflect environmental values in their visual identity in order to create a positive image among environmentally conscious consumers. The main research question is: How does the Patagonia brand manifest environmental values in the design of its visual identity? The research method is descriptive-analytical, and qualitative data were collected through information from the brand’s official websites and internet sources. Visual elements such as logos, packaging, and media presence were analyzed. Ultimately, the analysis of the data obtained in this study showed that minimalist designs, natural color palettes, and the use of recycled materials in packaging all contribute to this brand’s commitment to sustainability. Effective visual identity strategies can serve as a model for other fashion brands seeking to balance aesthetic appeal and environmental responsibility. Visual identity plays an important role in conveying environmental values and improving brand image, helping to strengthen long-term relationships with consumers and providing valuable insights for future studies in sustainable branding strategies.
