Situational Prevention Strategies of Economic Crimes
##plugins.themes.academic_pro.article.main##
Abstract
In economic crimes, the criminal result, namely, the disruption of the country’s economic system, and the motive of obtaining profit on a large scale, are two indicators that raise the difficulties and challenges of preventing such crimes. Preventive measures, in light of these two indicators, must be both extensive and deterrent to motivations. Accordingly, the present research aims to examine situational prevention strategies for economic crimes. The research method is descriptive-analytical and is based on library sources. The findings indicate that among the factors that significantly contribute to situational prevention of economic crimes are transparency, supervision and control, and reform. In other words, a necessary condition for the soundness of an economic system is financial transparency across various dimensions, especially in governmental operations. On the other hand, the necessity of supervision and control arises from the fact that, in the absence or weakness of internal control by individuals, the need for external control or supervision becomes more evident. Finally, reform, modernization, and the use of the most modern methods to prevent economic crimes constitute an undeniable approach to preventive confrontation with economic crimes.
